Denmark is now a jewel in the crown of WA's stunning South West and South Coast regions. Settled in the late 1800's originally as a timber milling town and later agriculture. It retains, until this day, a rural village atmosphere, in the picturesque setting on the banks of the Denmark River, and Wilson Inlet, under a canopy of the world's second tallest trees, the majestic Karri (Eucalyptus Diversicolour). Just a few scenic kilometres from the town is some of the South Coast's most spectacular coastline - iconic spots such as Ocean and Lights Beaches and Green's Pool to name just a few.
Approximately 45 km to the west, passing by Bow Bridge and Peaceful Bay en-route, is the world famous Tree-top Walk and Valley of the Giants, offering the visitor a unique close-up view of the huge Karri and Tingle trees from both above and below. A little further on is the pretty hamlet of Nornalup set on the banks of the Frankland River and the Nornalup-Walpole inlet. Whilst only 50 km to the East is the bustling city of Albany, WA's oldest settlement, with more stunning beaches, attractions, cafes, galleries and history for you to discover. To the north by only about an hour's drive is Mt Barker, the Palntaganet wine district and the spectacular Stirling Range. The wildflowers in spring are a never-to-be-forgotten sight.
Rise with the golden sun dancing on the water. Enjoy spectacular forest and coastal walks, pristine secluded beaches, superb wineries and galleries, the Valley of the Giants, gourmet eateries and so much more. Denmark on WA's stunning South Coast is the ideal base to explore the region, or just relax and feel the serenity.
